C.A.P.S.
The CAPS program at OHCHS is designed to help students who have struggled in the traditional school setting. Although the CAPS Program is located within the OHCHS building, the atmosphere and daily procedures are somewhat different from those elsewhere in the school. CAPS students are expected to meet the same academic standards as other students, but they may meet them in a different chronology or demonstrate them in alternative ways. Students in CAPS usually take their “core” courses (English science, math, and history) within the program, and may take other courses like physical education, health, and art in the mainstream school on the opposite day ( i.e. Green Day and Gold Day).
Much attention is given in the CAPS program to creating a healthy work environment in which students can be both academically challenged and personally supported. As the “CAPS” name suggests, the program is intended to create “Connections for Academic and Personal Success.” It is our belief that a more individualized education plan and a “family-like” atmosphere will often lead to identifying and hopefully overcoming the obstacles that have previously blocked students from succeeding. Features such as regular class meetings, morning meditation, and group activities help with establishing a supportive environment. CAPS students frequently participate in off-campus learning opportunities both in our community and beyond. Creating connections with the Oxford Hills community is an essential part of the curriculum. Students work with an individualized learning plan which is regularly reviewed and updated; this plan includes steps towards personal as well as academic goals.

Streaked Mountain
The Streaked Mountain Program is an off-campus educational program that targets primarily juniors and seniors. It offers flexible scheduling and an academically rigorous curriculum in a supportive and caring setting.
Streaked Mountain is a program for students who want small group/individualized instruction and who prefer to be self-paced and to work as independently as possible.

"Streaked is a welcoming and accepting place that actually makes me want to come to school. I wouldn't change a single thing about it."
