📣OHMS offers a School-based health center!🩺
School-based health centers (SBHCs) provide a variety of health care services. Providing these services directly in schools allows for easy access and scheduling and saves time for students and parents/guardians. Services include:
*Routine physical exams, including sports physicals
*Diagnosis and treatment of illness such as: cold, sore throat, headache, rash
*Treatment of minor injuries
*Vision, dental and blood pressure screenings
*Vaccinations (shots)
*Health education, counseling and wellness promotion
*Nutrition education and weight management
*Prescribing of medicines as needed
*Behavioral health services by referral
*Referral for health care services which cannot be provided at the SBHC
*Health risk screenings
➡️Students do not need to be a patient at MaineHealth Stephens Hospital to enroll in the SBHC program. Our team will coordinate care and insurance coverage with your provider. Enrollment forms can be completed and submitted online. Printed forms may be completed and returned to the health center, the school nurse, or your child's homeroom teacher.

There will be an early release day today (1/16), due to the weather. High school and Middle school will dismiss at 11:00 and Elementary schools will dismiss at 12:00.

Picture Retake Day is next Tuesday, 12/12/23. This also happens to be "Tourist Day" for school spirit day. Looking forward to seeing these photos!
UPDATE TO BOYS BASKETBALL:
There will not be tryouts tomorrow, Friday 11/17/23. The gym will not be available due to Saturdays craft fair. They will resume on Monday, 11/20 at OHCHS from 2-4pm.
To all 7th & 8th grade boys signed up for basketball who are still playing football: There are NO cuts this week. There will be more try outs next week.
As of now they are scheduled for Monday, 11/20.
If you are NOT playing football you should go to the try outs at the high school today and Thursday.
Quarter 1 Report Cards are being sent home with students tomorrow, Thursday November 9th.
Update to Boys basketball tryouts: Monday will be for 7th grade only @ OHMS Gym. Tuesday will be for both 7th & 8th grade @ OHCHS Gym. Times are still 2pm -4pm.
OHMS Boys Basketball tryouts will be held on Monday November 13th and Tuesday November 14th at OHCHS Gym. Athletes will need to be registered, have a completed IHQ form, and an updated physical to participate. Students can take a bus from OHMS to the high school to attend.
OHMS Girls basketball tryouts will be held on Tuesday, 11/7 and Thursday, 11/9 from 2-4pm at the North campus. You must be registered, have an updated IHQ form and physical to participate.
REMINDER: There will be no school on Friday November 10th to observe Veterans Day.
OHMS Winter Sports Sign ups are now open. Click the green tab above to find the sign up form. If your student participated in a fall sport, you do not need to complete the IHQ form.
