Elementary Building Committee

The Oxford Hills Board of Directors seeks community and staff members to serve on the Building Committee for the school construction project for elementary school students.  

These building projects will take place over the next 3-5 years.  The responsibilities of building committee members include:

  • Review and approve all design and budget issues for the project

  • Work directly with the architect

  • Reach substantial consensus on all issues 

  • Create sub-committees as needed 

  • Review and approve the work of the sub-committees

  • As the project develops, the Building committee is to refer to the Board any issues that would substantially change the scope of the project, any major design change, or anything that would have a significant effect on the budget or bonding process.  

In addition to the MSAD#17 Administration, the Building Committee will include 2 representatives from each town in the district.  These representatives include School Board members, teachers, staff members, and  community members/parents.  The Building Committee members shall meet on a regular basis as required, monthly at first. Eventually the committee will meet bi-weekly.  

Interested community members and employees who wish to serve on the Building Committee shall submit a written statement expressing their interest to the School Board.  All letters of interest shall be emailed or delivered to Debra Hertell (d.hertell@msad17.org), Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools Office on or before Friday, September 20, 2024.
