OHMS 8th Grade Summer Programming Information- 2023
We are excited to welcome your student to the Oxford Hills Middle School Summer Programming this summer! This is the biggest summer programming opportunity that OHMS has offered in recent years, and we’re looking forward to having students in the building working hard during the summer to prepare for the 2023-2024 school year.
Here is some important information about your student’s summer programming session:
Logistics:
Dates: July 10-August 3; Monday-Thursday, 8 am-12 pm
Location: OHMS North Campus- 100 Pine St, South Paris
Drop Off: 8:00-8:10 am- OHMS Car Loop
Pick Up: 11:50 am-12:00 pm- OHMS Car Loop
Bus Transportation: If your child will transportation by MSAD 17 bus transportation, the bus garage will reach out to you about your transportation details.
Meals: Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily.
Attendance: If your child cannot attend a session, please contact the OHMS office at (207) 743-5946 to report their absence.
Staffing: The OHMS Summer Program is staffed by several OHMS teachers who will rotate through student sessions to teach their specialty content areas.

Academic Sessions Offered: The academic sessions offered to 8th graders will focus on academic content that students struggled with as 7th graders. Students will be working on standards that they failed and/or standards requiring remediation. We will offer academic sessions in math, ELA, writing, and science. We also will be working on group projects and team-building activities throughout the sessions.
Daily Schedule: Our daily schedules will vary based on the content that we’re working on and the activities teachers plan. A sample schedule is below.
8:00-8:10- Arrival, Breakfast Offered
8:10-9:00- Academic Session #1
9:00-9:50- Academic Session #2
9:50-10:00- Break
10:00-10:50- Academic Session #3
10:50-11:40- Academic Session #4
11:40-12:00- Lunch/Departure
